Say what you mean, mean what you say

Lest we forget: CONTENT IS KING. That does not mean words are king; digestible information that is created for your market in commonly agreed terms is king. Sellsius has a good post on usability of RE sites.
You may be a great writer but are you a great communicator? If you are trying to inform your readers, use simple words. Avoid buzzwords, jargon and highfalutin words. And don’t look like an ad promotion. You will be ignored.
