Texas Edging Out Florida?

Texas is claiming one of the top spots for migrating seniors.  Tennessee is sure to follow.

In 2005, the state of Texas gained 27,000 new residents over the age of 65 — who brought with them a total of $732 million in added income.

During the same year, Florida gained 68,000 residents over the age of 65, bringing an additional $1.9 billion in income to the state.

Georgia came in third with 16,000 new 65-plus residents and $400 million, followed by North Carolina and Tennessee with a respective 14,000 and 11,000 new residents, and $348.6 million and $273.7 million in income.
